Social Networks

16.4. Social Networks

From long-form content to many short formats

A common way of operating: from the same original research/article, the agent restructures it into multiple different formats — long-form post, thread, social summary — reusing a single research source instead of writing separately for each platform.

Publishing channels — via MCP / third-party integrations

For platforms that have an MCP server or a connection through Composio (similar to CRM in chapter 17.3), Hermes can publish directly; when not, the safe route is to have the agent draft the content, you review, and publish manually yourself — especially in the early stages of setting up the voice profile.

Notes

  • Always experiment at a narrow scope before letting the agent publish publicly on its own — this point is emphasized throughout the documentation when it comes to content operating processes: start with a narrow task that has a human reviewer, then expand as trust grows.
  • Because each platform has different character limits/formats, write those constraints explicitly in a skill or prompt (the same way a SKILL.md spells out its Pitfalls) so the agent doesn’t produce content that gets cut off on publish.
