Linux OS

1.1. Linux OS — Picking the Right Server

Suggested configuration

  • RAM: 4GB — enough headroom for multiple MCP servers, parallel crons, and attachment processing without OOM worries.
  • vCPU: 2 cores is comfortable; 1 core still works if the budget is tight.
  • OS: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS — best supported for both installation paths in chapter 2.
  • Disk: at least 20-30GB if you plan to run Docker (images + layers + data volume); a little less for a direct install.

Notes

  • Lock in the RAM/CPU and OS choice at this step, because chapter 2 (Installation) assumes the server is already ready to spec — avoid discovering missing resources in the middle of the install.
  • Do not pick a VPS under 4GB if you plan to run Docker + several MCP servers + local STT/TTS at the same time — containerization adds a small overhead on top of a direct install.
  • If you are unsure between Docker and a direct install, read 2.1 and 2.3 first to picture the long-term operating process of each, then decide — instead of switching halfway through.
